Homburg Zolitude, Riga

Location

This mixed-use (commercial/retail and residential) development project is located in the very heart of Zolitude, one of the most popular residential districts of Riga. It is a 1 ha corner property which will be developed in two phases – first the commercial project and then the residential building. The site enjoys easy access to downtown Riga by rail and is not far from the popular seaside resort town of Jurmala.

Development Project

We have designed a two-phase project consisting of a retail building with about 4500 m2 of lettable space and a residential apartment building of about 10000 m2 of sellable space. Several large retailers have shown interest in the retail space. The project has been designed with an integrated green recreation area on the roof of the retail center in front of the residential tower.

Surroundings

Since a number of nice new residential developments have been built in Zolitude in recent years there is a strong need for a new retail component in the neighborhood. It is also relatively close to the Spice shopping center.

Riga is the capital of Latvia and, with 720,000 inhabitants and up to 1,100,000 in the greater Riga area, also the largest city in the Baltic States. It is situated on either side of the Daugava River, where it flows into the Baltic Sea. Founded in 1201, this former Hanseatic League member is one of the oldest medieval cities in Europe and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the political, economic, and cultural centre of Latvia and the transport hub of the Baltics.
